When you go to a Supercharger station, you’re probably expecting something like 12 or maybe 20 charging stalls at a typical location. But when you need to support EV charging along a busy travel corridor with high EV adoption? We go hands-on with the two largest Supercharger sites in the world in our latest video.
Until recently, Barstow, California was home to the largest Tesla Supercharger location in the world. (It’s still home to the largest gas station in CA) The 120-stall location doesn’t seem oversized considering it is located at the intersection of I-40 and I-15, supporting EV drivers driving between LA and Vegas. It’s convenient place to charge with nearby amenities and a ton of charging capacity.
But the new king, is the recently launched Tesla Oasis in Lost Hills, California. This purpose-built and off-grid location Supercharger location has a total of 164 charging stalls and 11 MW of solar generation capacity. And to ensure you can get a charge when the sun is now shining, there is 39 MWh of battery energy storage thanks to 10 Tesla mega packs on site. This is a seriously impressive project for EV charging infrastructure. It’s going to have a big job supporting weekend and holiday travel along the busy I-5 outside of Los Angeles.
Both sites use V4 charging dispensers with longer cords, but all connector are NACS. These locations are open to non-Tesla partner manufacturers, but a NACS-to-CCS1 adapters will be required for most non-Teslas.
At the time of our visit (and publication) the Tesla Oasis was down for maintenance in January, 2026. But I very much look forward to visiting again when it’s fully operational and more amenities are built at the location.
