Ajax, Ontario is home to the new largest Tesla Supercharger in Canada. This 44 stall mega location is at 40 Kingston Rd E, and just a few blocks away from Highway 401, the busiest highway in North America. This was a much needed charging capacity boost for EV drivers leaving/arriving the east Toronto area.
We were able to visit the location just a few week after it was commissioned for service, and it was already showing signs of getting busy. It’s fairly efficient rectangular site layout, but there was only a single point of entry/exit. So it may feel congested if it ever reaches full capacity with 44 cars coming and going for 15-20 minute charging sessions.
This is a V3+ site at launch, meaning 400-500V charging, but up to 325 kW for Cybertruck. Access is open to non-Teslas too. While it’s nowhere near as massive as the Tesla Oasis location in California, it’s still great to see these big charging parks popping up near busy travel corridors. I just wish this one was located a bit closer to the highway exit and not located in the same shopping plaza as Costco. 😮💨
